FII selling pressure slows down

Outflow of Rs 173.40 crore on 23 November 2007


Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold shares worth net Rs 173.40 crore on Friday, 23 November 2007, compared to their sales of Rs 843.90 crore on Thursday, 22 November 2007.

FIIs outflow of Rs 173.40 crore on 23 November 2007 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2756.30 crore and gross sales Rs 2929.70 crore. The 30-share BSE Sensex rose 326.55 points or 1.76% at 18,852.87 on that day.

FII outflow in November 2007 totaled Rs 4628.80 crore (till 23 November 2007). FII inflow in calendar year 2007 totaled Rs 67,128.30 crore (till 23 November 2007).

There are a total of 1,168 FIIs registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India (Sebi).
