Idea Cellular, Cairn India gain entry in Nifty

Shares of Idea Cellular, belonging to Aditya Birla Group, rose 4.13 per cent to Rs 138.60 and oil and gas explorer Cairn India gained 3.32 per cent to Rs 218.10 after the two scrips got included in S&P CNX Nifty index from today. Idea Cellular h it a high of Rs 139.20 and a low of Rs 131.10 during the day as over 23.23 lakh shares changed hands on the BSE.

Cairn India hit a high of Rs 219.60 and a low of Rs 210 as over 12.43 lakh shares changed hands on the BSE during the day.

Idea Cellular and Cairn India replaced Mahanagar Telephone Nigam and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation in S&P CNX Nifty.
